Setting

Settings control various options about how a card looks and behaves. Each card's Options tab has a "settings" subtab that lets you configure the settings that apply to that card.

Settings are applied to sets of cards, which may be as specific as a single card, or as broad as all cards. Learn more about Sets.

Note that your "end users" don't have to learn any of the following.  Settings are mostly used by Wagneers as part of building a Wagn.

Settings are applied to sets of cards, which may be as specific as a single card, or as broad as all cards.  Learn more about Sets.

Like everything in Wagn, setting values are stored in cards.  They have this simple format:

|Set|+|Setting|

For example, below is "*all+*captcha", which plusses the *all set to the *captcha settingCaptcha setting values are toggles, and this one's value is yes, meaning captchas are turned on for all cards on wagn.org. (Captchas only show up when anonymous — not signed-in — users add or edit something they are permitted to add or edit.)

yes

This setting could be overridden by one applied to a more specific set. For example, if you don't want a captcha to appear when people add or edit Support Tickets, then you would add a card "Support Ticket+*type+*captcha" (plussing the set of all Support tickets — Support Ticket+*type — to the captcha setting — *captcha). You would give that card the value no, and thus captcha would be turned off for Support Tickets, overriding the more general setting on *all.
