Error message appearing in strange place

The error message when trying to add a comment on Dahl shows up in a very odd place - at the bottom of the included +ingredients card.

We've changed permissions enough since then that I have no idea how to test this. I tried opening that page with the discussion card open, then signing out on another page, but when I tried to submit a comment I got the Rats - captcha required message, but no captcha loaded. I'm inclined to just close this ticket, figure?
