I think this is a routine javascript issue. it's an easy fix to restore loading calendar.js in head.  unfortunately that adds 84k to initial requests  (prototype is 124k, the html is often ~7-15k ... Tags:

Slash-star fails to disable links in edit mode, and now fails with transclusions in general. Deprecate that syntax and use a \ before double-brackets or double-braces if you don't want them to render as a link or inclusion. Tags:
