improve editor help text and ubiquify it

or even simpler:

I don't like the suggested text changes, but I do like the link to editing help. Should go to wagn.org (this is fairly standard practice for markups). John, if you create a markup documentation card, we can link to that one and knock it out. Then we can replace this ticket with a separate one for fixing the timing bug that sometimes keeps the editing suggestions from showing up.

the reason I don't like the text changes is that they're too lengthy and will bust narrow editors. I think we should treat the help text as a reference for frequent users, not as a narrative instruction for new users.

Eventually we'll be able to pull in the full markup help card right from wagn.org...
