Wagn 2.0

Later this year we'll release Wagn 2.0 with our Modules API, making it simple for Ruby developers to extend Wagn's capabilities. We're giving particular emphasis to customizing views and setting up various actions triggered by card events (creating, saving, deleting, etc.). At the same time we'll be creating a new RESTful Web API that lets you access cards in a wider variety of file formats and export cards in flexible ways.

By 2.0 almost all of Wagn configuration will be connected to sets, including a new set-based permissions system. Doing so will allow us to eliminate the permissions table from our underlying structure; this is just one example of dramatically simplifying Wagn's underlying data structure, which will eventually make it easier to port to nonrelational databases.

We'll also make a number of interface improvements, including a more fluid editing experience, a skinning system, and making formatting easier — happy news for Wagneers.

You can read more about these and other near-term priorities by browsing through our high and medium priority tickets. We're currently working on:

Wagn 3.0

The key theme of Wagn 3.0 will be distribution.

First we'll be making wagn easier to use in a wider variety of media, particularly mobile OSes.
